Even for the most famous of A-listers, sometimes an occasional misstep is inevitable.

Many of us have stacked it in public just walking to catch the train, so it’s very impressive that these stars do it in front of thousands yet handle the moment like a pro.

There’ve been many instances of this happening over the years, so here a just a few examples of the brave musicians who have got back up again after a brutal stage fall.

Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo’s fans in Melbourne had no idea they’d be in for a split-second of fear after they walked into Rod Laver Arena in October 2024.

Early into the Drivers License songstress’ set, footage shared to TikTok showing Rodrigo running around greeting her adoring audience before falling into a “hole” in the middle of the stage.

Luckily, Rodrigo had managed to catch herself with her hands, saving herself from falling further by grabbing the edge of the hatch that had seemingly accidentally been left open from when she had entered.

Almost as quickly as she had disappeared, Rodrigo emerged on stage again, popping up from the hole and reassuring her audience.

With a smile on her face, Rodrigo casually spoke into the microphone: “Oh my god! That was fun, I’m OK! Sometimes there is just a hole in the stage, OK… where was I?”

Beyoncé

Queen Bey never fails to disappoint with her lives shows, and during one performance she was wowing fans in a satin red trench coat like there was no tomorrow.

But suddenly, she tripped and fell down some stairs. Everyone was gasping, and it looked painful.

But in the blink of an eye, Beyoncé quickly got back up and went harder than ever before.

Many fans took to social media at the time to praise the songstress, with one writing: “Beyoncé didn’t almost fall, the fall almost Beyoncéd.”

Lady Gaga

During a show at her Las Vegas residency in 2019, Gaga invited a fan called Jack on stage and jumped into his arms.

But he lost his footing and the pair both fell over and off the side of the stage. While everyone gasped, the singer soon turned the moment into something magical.

She returned to stage and played Million Reasons with Jack next to her.

“It’s amazing,” she said. “We love each other so much we fell off the damn stage.

“We fell into each other’s arms. We’re like Jack and Rose from Titanic. I suppose we should have some tea after that.”

Chris Martin

In November 2024, Coldplay singer Chris Martin was playing his fourth and final show in Melbourne when he stepped and fell into a hole.

The Fix You singer was walking backwards as he read out fans signs, then when he stepped into the hole, gasps rang out through the audience.

“That’s not planned,” he quickly reassured fans as he climbed out.

“Thank you for catching me,” he added, addressing a member of his team below the stage.

Luckily, Martin didn’t seem to be hurt, quickly getting on with the show after the incident.

Post Malone

In 2022, Post Malone took a nasty fall during a concert at the Enterprise Centre n St Louis.

While singing his hit song Circles, Malone was high-fiving and shaking hands with concert-goers. But as he turned to face the other side of the stage, he stepped into a trap door, seemingly falling on his face.

Malone posted a video to Twitter thanking fans and reassuring fans he was OK.

“Thank you for the patience thank you for putting up with my dumb a–” Malone started the video.

“Whenever we do the acoustic part of the show there’s a guitar and a guitar stand and it goes down [beneath the stage] and there’s this big a– hole so I go around there I turn the corner and bust my a–.”

He told fans the fall “winded me pretty good” and added he had been hospital where he got some pain medication and confirmed he was “good”.

“I just want to apologise to everyone in St Louis… next time I’m around this way we’re going to do a 2 hour show for you to make up for the couple of songs we missed,” he said.

Celebrity moments and photos people can’t stop talking about

Dre London, Malone’s manager also took to social media to give an update on the singers condition after the fall. 

“We did X-rays at hospital after the show & they declared he had bruised his ribs! In true Posty fashion loving his fans he finished the show!

“I truly don’t know any artist like hi/ Talking to him few hrs ago he was still saying Dre don’t go hard on em’ explaining more then saying ‘the show must go on!'”

Travis Scott

In 2017, Drake brought out Travis Scott to be a guest at one of his London tour dates.

While walking around, he fell into a giant hole and the music continued to play.

He got back up within seconds and carried on performing.

Scott spoke about the incident shortly after in an interview with GQ Style.

“I didn’t fall, dude, I flew. I was floating,” he said.

“I don’t fall. S–t, nothing happened. Floating is amazing. It’s like getting in a plane. I just flew, man. I’m a magician, like David Blaine. I could never fall.”
