Kings of Leon have been forced to cancel their upcoming UK and Europe tour dates after frontman Caleb Followill suffered a “freak accident”.
The “gnarly” leg injury occurred while the Sex is on Fire singer was playing with his kids – daughter Dixie, 12, and son Winston, six – who he has with his wife, model Lily Aldridge.
On doctor’s orders, the 43-year-old is unable to travel or spend time on his feet for the next two months, putting an end to their planned European tour, which was set to kick off on June 10 in Paris.

“Unfortunately I regret to inform you that those shows will have to be cancelled due to a freak accident that happened the other day,” Followill told fans.
“I broke my foot pretty bad just playing with my kids … It’s pretty gnarly.
“I’ll spare all the details but we’re fortunate enough to have some great doctors here in Nashville that gave me emergency surgery.
“I’m on the mend, but they’ve told me that I can’t be on my feet or travelling or anything for the next eight weeks or so.”

A statement from the band revealed Followill shattered his heel and is “under strict guidance of expert orthopaedic specialists” for his recovery.
The Use Somebody singer recorded the video inside his Nashville home, dressed in a blue bathrobe sitting on the sofa with his injured foot elevated on a mobility scooter.
The band, which includes Caleb’s brothers Nathan and Jared, as well as cousin Matthew, are currently touring their 2024 album Can We Please Have Fun, but he teased new music to come.
“It’s a big bummer because we were so excited and had been preparing for this tour for a long time,” he said.
“We’ve been in the studio recording a bunch of new music that we were going to debut but now we have to pivot and do whatever work we can while I have these limitations.

“It’s not the message I want to be sending but hopefully we’ll see you all soon.”
The Grammy winners’ US tour dates later in the year are still set to go ahead. Australia is not on the current tour dates list.
