If you can cast your mind back to September 2023, you’ll recall that Sophie and Joe’s messy breakup dominated the headlines for weeks as the exes butted heads over the custody of their two young daughters, Willa and Delphine, who are now 4 and 2.
Their divorce was eventually finalized in September 2024, and, in spite of all the legal contention, the exes have indicated that they want to maintain an amicable relationship for the benefit of their girls. During a May 2024 Vogue interview, Sophie called Joe a “great father” and said: “My dream is to have a huge Christmas where my daughters can have their dad there, Joe’s whole side of the family, their grandparents. I don’t care about the politics, I just want the girls to feel loved and have everyone show up for them.”
Now, nearly two years after their split, Sophie and Joe are making their support for one another clearer than ever. Speaking during Jay Shetty’s On Purpose Live Tour in Hollywood on May 23, Joe gave some sweet insight into the current state of his and Sophie’s coparenting relationship, describing her as an “incredible mom.”
“I have a beautiful coparenting relationship that I’m really grateful for,” he can be heard telling Jay in a clip from the live event. “Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.”
“I think naturally, as young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them,” he continued. “I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence, and know that they can do literally anything they want.”
Adorably, the following day, Sophie returned the favor by supporting the release of Joe’s new album, Music for People Who Believe in Love, on Instagram. “Go go @joejonas,” the Game of Thrones star wrote on her IG stories, alongside a photo of the album cover and a Spotify streaming link.
