Jana Kramer is defending her husband Allan Russell after comments he made last year caused controversy.Speaking to E! News on Friday, June 6, the One Tree Hill alum insisted that Russell wasn’t being serious when he said he wouldn’t let her film sex scenes with another man.
“He was joking,” Kramer, 41, told the outlet. “There’s a conversation with every [job] we take. It’s the same thing with his line of work.”
The actress continued, “That’s what marriage is — it’s a conversation. It’s not like, ‘No, you cannot do this.’ I don’t think that’s healthy.”
Russell, 44, originally made the comments in December 2024 while discussing an intimate scene between Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Sarah (Dawn Olivieri) featured on Yellowstone season 5.
He admitted on Kramer’s “Whine Down” podcast that he wouldn’t feel comfortable if Kramer took on a role that involved intimate sex scenes.
“I was just like, ‘There’s not part of me that will ever, ever, ever allow that, ever, for a man to be that close to you like that [on set],” he said.

When Russell was asked by Kramer if he would make an exception for a show such as Yellowstone, Russell still wasn’t backing down when it came to his opinion.
“I’ll be, like, phoning the producers and threatening the producers [like], ‘You need to change that scene. For the good of your health, you need to change this scene,’” he stated.
Russell also said on the podcast that he didn’t think actors filming sex scenes was “healthy for any relationship.”
He added: “That’s not good for a marriage, that type of role, it’s not, especially [for] a man who’s not in the acting world. It’s difficult. So, therefore, that’s my opinion based on [the fact that] I’m not in that world.”

However, the following week Russell appeared on the “Whine Down” podcast again to clarify his comments.
“If the opportunity is good for your career, then it’s clearly a marital discussion,” he explained. “And listen, if you feel it’s good for your career, then I’m never gonna hold you back from doing something. You know that.”
Kramer and Russell announced their engagement in May 2023 — six months after they started dating. The couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Roman, in November that same year and tied the knot in July 2024. Kramer also shares two kids: Jolie, 9, and Jace, 6, with her ex-husband Mike Caussin.

She may have starred on one of TV’s biggest hits with her role on Friends, but Lisa Kudrow isn’t rushing to join popular series, The White Lotus.Speaking to Parker Posey in Variety’s Actors on Actors series on Friday, June 6, the actress, 61, shared why she might “avoid” taking part in season 4.
Posey starred in season 3 of the drama, which was created and directed by Mike White. During the interview, Posey, 56, asked Kudrow if she’d be down to take on a gig on The White Lotus if given the chance.
“Work with Mike White? Yes. I love Mike White. I’ve hung out with him at a party,” Kudrow replied, before sharing the hesitation she has with acting on a show like The White Lotus.
While the cast for season 4 hasn’t been announced yet, Posey encouraged Kudrow to get on board, telling her, “Oh, Lisa, you should be in season 4. If there’s a big enough TikTok campaign, then it’ll happen.”
Kudrow acknowledged casting doesn’t necessarily work like that and added, “And I might not be [White’s] cup of tea, which is allowed to happen too. But I do get nervous about inhabiting things that are too dark; I try to avoid that.”
Debuting in 2021, the HBO series has garnered fans for its twists and turns and stunning resort locations.

The show follows guests and employees at a fictional resort and their respective ups and downs during their vacation. While each series takes place at the “White Lotus” resort franchise, the setting is in a different country each time. Season 1 was set in Hawaii, season 2 in Italy and the third and most recent season was set in Thailand.
The anthology series is also known for a mysterious death — or two — that is eventually revealed at the end of each season.

White hasn’t given too much away when it comes to details about what will happen in season 4, but has teased a little bit about what to expect.
“I’ve dabbled in Buddhism, and Thailand worked for the themes that I was trying to get into,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in April. “The show is about identity and desire — and then there’s another part of me, the mischievous gay part, that’s just like, ‘How do I create something that’s dirty and funny?’”
According to an interview that played after the season 3 finale, White teased he was looking for a change, adding, “For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of the crashing waves against rocks vernacular. But there’s always room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.”
